Bon appetit / Jätku leiba

Posted by
Vaido (Võrumaa, Estonia) on 1 October 2010 in Cityscape & Urban.

Egypt, Cairo @ 2007

It's kind of tricky to translate the title of this photo to english. In estonian we always say "Jätku leiba", when we join the table; this is wish from old times, meaning "let us always have bread".

Jatku leiba is a saying close to my heart,my Grandfather and uncles where all bakers, and I earned my pocket money Saturday mornings working in the bakery,I still make most of our bread at home..Thanks Vaido, your terrific shot really brought the past back to life for me.

What amuses me about this is that no-one is taking any notice of such (to us) an extraordinary scene !
