The koru is Maori word for a spiral shape based on the shape of a new unfurling silver fern frond and symbolizing new life, growth, perpetual movement. It is important symbol in Maori art.
Koru on maoori sõna spiraalse kujundi kohta, mis põhineb võrsuva sõnajala kujul ja sümboliseerib uut algust, kasvu, igavest liikumist ja algpunkti tagasi jõudmist. Sellel sümbolil on tähtis osa maoori kunstis.
