Uyuni soolatasandik / Uyuni salt flat

Posted by
Vaido (Võrumaa, Estonia) on 17 November 2017 in Landscape & Rural.

Salar de Uyuni is the world's largest salt flat at about 10,000 square kilometers. It is located in southwest Bolivia, near the crest of the Andes and is at an elevation of 3,656 meters above sea level. Neil Armstrong is said to have seen the salar when stood on the moon and mistakenly thought it to be an enormous glacier.
